A block is rarely a wall. It is usually a well-mannered postponement that arrives exactly when growth becomes possible.
Resistance wears reasonable clothes
People expect a money block to feel like a barrier. In practice it feels like good judgement. You will finish the proposal after this busy month. You need one more certificate before raising your rate. The timing is not quite right. Each reason is defensible, which is what makes the pattern durable.
The tell is timing. Resistance appears at the threshold — the moment before visibility, before asking, before receiving. If your hesitation reliably arrives at the same doorway, you are not looking at circumstance. You are looking at a block.
Every block was once protection
It helps enormously to stop treating the block as an enemy. At some earlier point, the pattern kept you safe. Staying small avoided a parent's envy. Not asking avoided a humiliating no. Undercharging kept you liked. The strategy worked, which is why it was retained.
So the question is not 'how do I destroy this?' but 'what was this protecting, and is that protection still required?' Asked with respect, resistance tends to explain itself surprisingly quickly.
Mapping a block in three columns
Take one specific stalled action — sending the invoice, asking for the raise. Write three columns: the thought, the feeling, the sensation. Thought: 'they'll think I'm greedy.' Feeling: shame, low-grade dread. Sensation: heat in the face, tightness in the throat.
This separation matters. Most people experience the three as one solid mass and conclude 'I can't.' Split apart, each becomes workable. Thoughts can be examined for evidence. Feelings can be felt without obedience. Sensations can be settled with breath and tapping.
Working with it: EFT and honest inquiry
In our programmes we pair structured inquiry with EFT tapping, because a block that lives in the body rarely dissolves through argument alone. Tapping while naming the resistance out loud — plainly, without prettifying it — reduces the physical charge enough that the thought loses its authority.
Then we take the smallest possible action at the same threshold, within forty-eight hours. Insight without action leaves the pattern intact. One completed crossing teaches more than a month of understanding.
